Jobs are created to supply consumer demand. The private sector claims government doesn't create jobs. The truth is a job can be created by the government or the private sector. It's a choice that should be decided democratically by the public.

The government is the biggest customer. It creates massive demand. Whether the government supplies itself through non-profit means for the public, or contracts its demands to private for-profit companies, should be a public decision whose results benefit the public.

Saying government doesn't create jobs is a form of Academentia. The question of job creation is merely the choice of startup capital and profit distribution. Where does the investment come from and where do the profits go?
